Don’t Disrespect the Police (State)

0
Via Say Uncle comes this terrible story.

http://blog.robballen.com/2011/06/30/p4905-never-go-full-retard.post

20 some cops show up to taser, pepperspray and beat down a kid for disrespect…… not that it matters, but he was a mentally handicapped teen-ager with a speech impediment.

WTF Really? I mean even if he had been standing on the street corner screaming obscenities at the police, that should at least be covered by the first amendment right? I mean even at the most, disorderly conduct? disturbing the peace.

What the FUCK is going on in this country where a guy can get shot to death for walking down the street whittling on a piece of wood, or a returning veteran can get shot some 60+ times in his own home cause a officer outside accidentally discharges his gun, and routinely people are getting in trouble for taking pictures and video of police doing their job, threatened with violence and criminal charges…..

Some 8 years ago I though things were bad, but I came to the conclusion they would have to get much worse before we decided to change them, I guess I was right, and I guess we still ain’t hit rock bottom…

I just don’t know what else to say, cept Fuck It, bad time to stop drinking.

Bone Marrow donation update.

0
Over 5 years ago I donated bone marrow stem cells through the Carter Blood Care National Marrow Donor Program.
I never met my recipient, but I was informed a few months after the donation that he was able to leave the hospital for the first time in maybe a year or so.

I just got another update, it seems my recipient has passed away.

I do hope he had a good few extra years.

I am still humbled by the whole system that was able to find a matching set of Bone Marrow from a sick person and a healthy person and the fact just by the simple set of dna I have, I was able to prolong a life with simple willingness coupled with science and medicine of course…

OMG HAI! Playing Eve and thinking about Anonymous’s “The Plan” phase 1

0
So yeah, been a while.
I have mellowed a bit I think, for better or worse, Politics got too tiresome, nothing ever changes for us.
I work for another company, doing tech support, overnights.
Stopped playing WoW for now, playing Eve Online like finally, good stuff.

Decided I am an Athiest….

Started noticing a lot of posts about injustices that stuck with me, bugged me, made me think about what this crap is all about.

Then Anonymous pops off with this, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_9T1SPJXRI and http://www.whatistheplan.forumotion.com/

I don’t agree with some of what Anonymous does, and damn sure don’t like Lulzsec, but you know, maybe, just maybe it’s time to find a way to do something, really something.

Even if that is simply starting to blog again, and maybe pay some more attention to the world, and “better myself”, reading something from Dawkins rather then Koontz….

9-11 World Trade Center Disaster!

Eight and a Half years, YEARS, What The F***!

This actually brings tears to my eyes if I ponder it too long….

Righteous Indignation growing.

You should be reading “The Unreligious Right”

I can’t tell my non-existent readers enough.

You should be reading The Unreligious Right.

David consolidates hot topics daily, as well as offering very logical commentary on current news. The lack of “God” seems to really temper things, ala Dean Esmay.

Throw away vote on Medina?

0
Current news reports show that Medina garnered some 18% of the primary votes.
This is a lady no one even knew of a year ago, a veritable 3rd party candidate running for the Republican nomination.

Is she a “Truther”? Maybe
Did she make money of government entities with her “small business”? Probably

While the Truther issue could be a deal breaker for me, I knew Perry would handily win the Primary, so I felt making a statement about the possible viability of a new kind of Republican.

Let’s be honest here, our liberties will not be the primary goal of ANY politician, especially when the Republicans are kept in office by the Christian right.
Christians oppose legalization of vices, they would say that the law should protect people from themselves, and until we move past that, I highly doubt the Libertarian or to a lesser extent Tea Party can get any real clout.

When in doubt I always remember something I read from Mad Ogre, “Always vote against the incumbent, never let them get comfy” and if I have any sort of viable option I will.

Of course, Perry has a special place for me, yes he is a politician (aren’t they all), but he says the right things about Gun Control, or lack there of, every, EVERY time the question comes up.
In my world that carries a lot of weight.

Dr. David Benke of Colorado is a Hero.

0
Regardless of politics, creed, personal issues (none of which have been reported, or matter), Dr. David Benke did the right thing, risking his well being to protect those around him.

While I hope I am never faced with such a choice, I do hope I am as much of a sheepdog as Dr. David Benke.

IMHO, that man shouldn’t have to buy his own dinner for a month or more!

Joe Stack was a Domestic Terrorist.

0
Being bad at it, and “only” killing himself and one other (as per current reports) doe snot make him a “Cooky Criminal”.

He set out to kill people as well as himself to make a point.
We can debate the politics and beliefs he discussed all we want, but he was as much a Domestic Terrorist as McVeigh or Marvin Heemeyer.
Google Marvin if you don’t remember.

Joe Stack was a Domestic Terrorist.

Is torture worth it?

0
The Unreligious Right has 2 posts on this, Pro’s and Cons.

Top Ten Good Arguments Against Torture.

Top Ten Bad Arguments Against Torture.

I do not consider anything short of water-boarding to be torture, and I would expect that to be reserved for the absolute worst of the enemy combatants. I do in theory support torture, but if any argument against it carries weight, it would be the same argument against ANY Government power.

“Any POWER can and will be abused, and who gets to decide when said POWER is allowable?”

But that’s just the Libertarian in me talking…..

SEVEN THINGS NEVER TO SAY TO A VETERAN

1. “Thank you for your service, but I don’t think we should have been there in the first place.”

2. “Is it worth it?”

3. “Are you a lesbian?”

4. “You’re too rigid to deal with sudden changes.”

5. “Do you have post-traumatic stress disorder?”

6. “What’s the worst thing that happened to you over there?”

7. “Have you ever killed anyone?”

Just say, “I’m glad you’re home. Welcome back.”
