2000 Deaths, Grim Milestone in the fight for Freedom and Liberty the world over.

We have lost Two Thousand troops of the United States Military in Iraq.

What does this mean?

Mark Benjiman at Slate seems to think no one cares. (Seems he thinks only the left pays any attention)
Anti-War types say It is time to bring them home. (Yeah that will help the Iraqi people)

Here is what I think it means.
2000 Men and Women have given their lives for something, right or wrong.
2000 Men and Women have left this world to be in the afterlife, whatever that may be.
2000 Men and Women will not attend another gathering of family or friends.
2000 Men and Women gave the ultimate sacrifice for freedom and liberty.

I can quote the founding fathers, or wax poetically about how “Freedom isn’t Free”
I won’t, plenty of that around the Internet.

What I will say is this, after my reservations of whether the Iraqi people deserved freedom due to their lack of rising up on their own. They have proven they are ready for Liberty through two elections, with turnouts as good as our own hotly contested 2004 election, percentage wise.
Think about that a second, Iraqis voted in both of their elections, facing attacks by terrorists, the real baby killers.
We just had to face lines, traffic, maybe weather… shameful more of us can’t be bothered voting.
Even Aljazeeran took notice.

2000 Men and Women have died freeing a nation of people from a murderous despot.
2000 Men and Women should be honored as the heroes they are.
2000 Men and Women knew that Freedom is not Free, and that they were doing a good thing.
2000 Men and Women are not to be made martyrs of the Left’s anti war propaganda machine.
2000 Men and Women made the decision to join the military.
2000 Men and Women were not poor people trying to get an education in an unfair racist world.
2000 Men and Women ….
Are God Damned Heroes, and you best treat them and their memories as such.

Pardon my harsh language.
