Miers stepped down, yeah I know I am behind.
I had two major issues with Miers.
A: With Republican Majority, everywhere that matters, why do they walk on eggshells? They have House, Senate, and Presidency, time for the Republicans to grow a spine. The Republican and Conservative base deserves a fight, need a fight, and damn well better get a fight.
It is time the Right and the Left square off and settle some arguments about the Constitution.
B: The stealth nomination of an unknown to a lifelong post on the highest court of law in the land, well that just speaks for itself.
Why bother rewarding someone who has a judicial track record of properly reading the Constitution of the United States of America, and sticking to it, when you can just grab one of you close friends and personal lawyers? What sort of precedent would that set?
Several bloggers went much more in-depth, I am sure if you care for the topic you probably read them already.
Me? I am pleased she stepped down, and cautiously optimistic that Bush got the message and will give us a real Constitutionalist.
